Pre wax cleaners do exactly that, prepare the paintwork and provide the best possible base for wax application. The products may contain a mild abrasive, this enhances the paintwork and the abrasive then breaks down leaving the surface fully prepared, no 'grading' is required as these are a 'one hit' product.
